Register for this workshop to get in-depth exposure to federal grant funding opportunities and learn of resources specifically available to Tennesseans.
The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program is a highly competitive federal program that encourages domestic small businesses to engage in research and development that has the potential for commercialization. Through a competitive awards-based program, SBIR enables small businesses to explore their technological potential and provides the incentive to profit from its commercialization.
Overview
Translating academic research into viable commercial products can have tremendous impact on the scientific community. LaunchTN offers resources for entrepreneurial researchers to advance their commercialization efforts.
» SBIR/STTR Funding enables small businesses to explore technological potential and provides the incentive to profit from its commercialization.
» The Networks program pairs life science and energy mentors with promising new companies and offers unique access to industry-specific research assets, subject matter experts and Launch Tennessee’s growth-stage programming.
» Microgrants provide up to $6,000 for grant-writing assistance to Tennessee based early-stage companies applying for an SBIR/STTR Phase I, Phase II or Fast-Track award.
» SBIR/STTR Matching Fund provides non-dilutive funding to Tennessee-based companies upon their successful federal grant award.
