Environmental Sampling and Analysis Application

The Problem

Field Researchers are responsible for collecting and compiling large bodies of multi-dimensional data sets. To effectively accomplish these tasks, researchers often rely on multiple systems. These systems can have integration issues, if integration capability exists. There is a need for a single system that can efficiently perform data collection and management tasks.

The Solution

Researchers at the University of Tennessee have developed an application that was originally designed to combat illegal logging by collecting information from forests around the world. However, this technology can be utilized for various data collection applications. Capabilities of the application include: an inventory management system, GPS records of collected items, permission and roles systems, expedition planning, and report generation.
