Fuhar Dixit, Ph.D. 

Assistant Professor, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, UT Knoxville

Fuhar Dixit joined the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 2026 where he focuses on the intersection of chemical engineering, environmental health, and sustainability. Bringing extensive experience from his Ph.D. at the University of British Columbia and postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley on environmental contamination, his interdisciplinary lab aims to develop practical, scalable solutions to complex ecological challenges. His research outputs range from practical cleanup solutions and broad-spectrum detection methods for complex water contaminants like PFAS to production of inexpensive biodegradable plastic free pots made from locally available soils and agricultural waste. Dixit is also a member of the UT’s interdisciplinary Precision Health and Environment cluster.
