Dr. James Parrett is a technology manager with the UT Health Science Center (UTHSC) team, responsible for the acquisition, development, and commercialization of intellectual property, including novel medications and formulations. James has extensive experience with both healthcare and technology innovation in the private sector, having worked as a pharmacist, an intellectual property attorney, and a research scientist. Prior to joining UTRF, James worked as the manager of pharmaceutical development and intellectual property at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. James obtained his PharmD and MS in Pharmacy Administration from the University of Mississippi, his JD from William and Mary Law School, and his BS in Chemistry from James Madison University. James is admitted to practice law in Delaware, Mississippi and Colorado, and is a licensed pharmacist in Mississippi and Colorado. James is also a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
