Many people in the tech transfer field are familiar with the 2011 US Supreme Court Stanford v. Roche decision. But not everyone is familiar with the April 2018 revisions to the Bayh-Dole Act regarding the obligation for universities to require employees to assign invention rights to their university, or the approach on the format and timing of assignments in Europe. This session will provide an overview suggestions for ensuring compliance in both jurisdictions.

Our speaker this month is Jonathan Wall, Ph.D., Director of Research-UTHSC Graduate School of Medicine (Knoxville), Director of the Amyloidosis and Cancer Theranostics, Co-Founder and interim Chief Science Officer of Attralus, Inc. In his talk, The Road to a Collaborative Corporate-Academic Partnership for Biotechnology, Dr. Wall will describe the process of going from invention disclosure to viable biotech start-up and the decision processes that have led to an effective and productive corporate-academic collaboration.
