
Brendan Boyd serves as Chair of the UTRF Investment Advisory Committee and is the Vice President of Plastics R&D and Corporate Analytical at Eastman Chemical Company.
During his 24 years at Eastman, he has worked along the spectrum of business building, from taking new products to market in existing businesses to building businesses far outside Eastman’s business portfolio.
During his time in R&D, he worked to commercialize a bio-based production route for Vitamin C. Brendan was one of the first employees at Centrus International, a food safety testing company. He has also worked in re-shaping Eastman’s business portfolio by identifying and acquiring new businesses for Eastman, such as Dynaloy, Solutia, and Taminco.
As a director and vice president in R&D, Brendan has driven innovation programs across Eastman’s material portfolio to multiple end-markets such as coatings, textiles, and durable consumer goods industries. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Florida in chemistry.
