Tyler Newton is an associate technology manager in UTRF’s Knoxville office, where he focuses on the commercialization of technologies developed from inventors in the UT Institute of Agriculture and other STEM-based departments at UT Knoxville (UTK).
Before joining UTRF, Tyler was a graduate research assistant in the research group of C. Neal Stewart, Ph.D., located in the plant biotechnology campus laboratories at UTK’s Herbert College of Agriculture. Tyler’s graduate research focused on agrobacterium-mediated transformation of hemp, as well as gene flow and bio-confinement risk procedures in switchgrass. Tyler has a bachelor’s degree in plant biotechnology and a master’s degree in plant molecular genetics from UTK.
