Tyler Newton is an assistant technology manager in the UT Research Foundation’s Knoxville office, where he focuses on the commercialization of technologies developed from inventors in the UT Institute of Agriculture and other STEM-based departments at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Before joining UTRF, Tyler was a Graduate Research Assistant in the research group of Dr. C. Neal Stewart, located in the Plant Biotechnology campus laboratories at the Herbert College of Agriculture. Tyler’s graduate research focused on Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of Hemp, as well as gene flow and bioconfinement risk procedures in Switchgrass. Tyler has a B.S. in Plant Biotechnology and an M.S. in Plant Molecular Genetics from the University of Tennessee.
