Rachel Valentine, Ph.D., is an assistant technology manager for the UT Research Foundation (UTRF) Knoxville Office, where she supports the protection and commercialization of biomedical and life sciences technologies arising from UT research. In this role, Rachel works closely with inventors to understand the scientific and commercial potential of new technologies and helps translate complex discoveries into compelling opportunities for industry engagement.
Prior to joining UTRF, Rachel served as a licensing associate for the Zucker Institute for Innovation Commercialization at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where she evaluated and managed intellectual property arising from MUSC research.
Rachel earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from MUSC, where her doctoral research focused on disease-state and microbial-driven alterations in intestinal epithelial biology.
